Aiea ACS Mission
The Aiea Adventist Community Services serves the whole person, a concept known as holistic ministry whose mission is to “serve the community in Christ’s name”. The purpose of holistic ministry is not only to proclaim the Good News, the word of salvation, but also to demonstrate the love of God to people who are in need. Throughout Jesus’ ministry there is evidence of a genuine holistic approach toward humanity; especially people who were marginalized, disadvantaged, and disenfranchised from society.
ACS Community Development and Urban Ministry Program (ACS CD/UM) provides vital help to individuals and families who are unemployed, working-poor, uninsured and disadvantaged in poverty stricken and urban areas. It offers relief services, promotes individual and community development that includes equipping community members with skills to become self-sufficient and engages in public advocacy.
This program makes services accessible to communities by being located in the heart of neighborhoods and becoming familiar with residents to nurture their hope, self-value and ability to succeed.

Food Pantry:
The Aiea Seventh-day Adventist Church has partner with the Hawaii Foodbank as a member agency. We receive food and other products from the warehouse and distribute them free of charge to people in need including the unemployed, homeless, elderly, young, disabled, mentally and/or physically challenged and working poor.

River of Life Mission (RLM):
This program provides balanced meals to senior citizens, handicapped, families, men and women who are in some form of poverty, recovery, or homelessness. The Aiea Church volunteers will help cook and serve their evening meal.
Volunteers are welcome but please be aware of the age limitation (16 years and older). Please contact the church office for more information about volunteering or talk to our RLM Director (Joseph Frett)
Standard dress code for volunteers is jeans, t-shirt and rubber sole shoes that cover your toes. Longer hair styles need to be pulled back off your face. Clean hands, hair and fingernails are a must. If you work in the kitchen we supply hairnets. Hairnets are not necessary in Dining Room.
